Ken's career in Occupational Safety and Health began in 1988 working in Southfield, Michigan as an Industrial Specialist and Job Analyst. Using his knowledge in many fields developed programs and collected data that would be later used to assist injured workers in the transition of return to work after an industrial injury. Employer groups and companies that benefited from these services include but not limited to: Ford Motor Company, General Motors, SD Warren, Bil-Mar Foods, Beatrice Cheese/ Redi Whip, United Parcel Service, and Gerber
He performed on-site Job Analysis, Worksite Ergonomic Assessment, and provided custom educational in-services and safety training for employers and employees for small to large employers until he returned to his home state of Arizona where he continued his career.
Working under contract, Ken provided assistance in the fields of Risk Management and Occupational Safety and Health for national accounts including Southern Pacific Railroad, Intel, Motorola and Toyota and local accounts including City's of Phoenix, Mesa, and Glendale, Safeway and the State of Arizona prison system. He also provided technical data and testimony regarding Job Analysis and Ergonomics for litigation to attorneys and employers, and participated in lectures and seminars to private and public groups and organizations on topics such as Occupational Safety and Health, Benefits of Early Return to Work, The Americans with Disabilities Act, Job Analysis and Ergonomics.
In May 1996, Ken began fine tuning his abilities of loss prevention and safety working for Professional Employer Organizations as Director of Risk Management and was instrumental in the development and implementation of risk management tools for the reduction and prevention of work related injuries for over 2,800 company clients with 50,000 worksite employees in 8 western states.
Ken continued his career in Risk Management and Occupational Safety and Health until founding Employers Resource Associates in 2003.
Jerry McCortney joined Employers Resource Associates late in 2005. "Jerry brings a lot of energy to ERA with his training skills and ability to develop innovative ways to teach worksite safety."
Ken and Jerry continue promoting safety in the workplace through a wide array of services to client employers and their employees.
